One capsule of Protocol For Life Balance™ EGCg contains the equivalent amount of the catechin, EGCg as approximately 2-3 cups of green tea. Green tea has been used in ancient China since at least 2700 BC. The traditional Chinese herbal system continues to use green tea to support a number of health concerns.
 
The active ingredients in green tea are a family of polyphenols. The primary catechin in one polyphenol family is epigallocatechin gallate (EGCg). This polyphenol in particular is believed to be responsible for a number of green tea's health benefits. EGCg is known to have strong antioxidant properties, which can help to support the healthy function of vascular tissues and genetic integrity.*
 
Cautions and Interactions
Do not take this product on an empty stomach; do not exceed recommended dose.  Anticoagulant medications and beta-lactam antibiotics may interact with Green Tea Extracts (GTE).  GTE may also decrease absorption of iron and folic acid.
 
Green tea has been shown to interact with lithium and clozapine.
