Natto is a food that has been used in Japanese culture for over 1000 years for its numerous health benefits. Natto is made through a fermentation process by adding Bacillus natto, a useful bacterium, to boiled soybeans, resulting in the production of the Nattokinase enzyme. Enzymes are biochemical catalysts, and without them life could not exist. Nattokinase is a systemic enzyme that can be absorbed from the digestive tract and used by the body. Nattokinase is so useful that it has been referred to as the “Enzyme of Enzymes.” In recent years, Nattokinase has been the subject of at least 17 scientific studies. These clinical and non-clinical studies have demonstrated that Nattokinase supports heart health, promotes healthy circulation, and helps to keep already healthy levels of blood clotting factors within a normal range.* Nattokinase activity is often expressed in Fibrinolytic Units, a term indicating its relative potency. Each serving of Protocol For Life Balance™ Nattokinase provides 2000 FU (Fibrinolytic Units). Cautions and Interactions While no adverse events have yet been reported, those with ongoing bleeding problems, such as ulcers or recent surgery, should avoid taking Nattokinase because the theoretical risk of bleeding exists. People with extremely high, uncontrolled blood pressure (systolic blood pressure greater than 200 mmHg or diastolic pressure greater than 110 mmHg) should not take Nattokinase unless under strict medical supervision. Nattokinase should not be taken by persons taking “blood thinning” drugs (anticoagulants, such as aspirin or warfarin). This product is intended for the following protocol: Cardiovascular Support. *The statements herein have not been evaluated by the FDA. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. |
