L-Carnipure® is a registered trademark of Lonza, Ltd. Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is a fatty acid found in beef and dairy products. CLA is not made by the human body, and therefore must be obtained through foods such as whole milk, butter, beef, and lamb, essentially, from animals that graze on grass in pastures. However, due to changes in cost-cutting agricultural practices, today's foods are typically low in CLA.
Numerous clinical studies have demonstrated CLA's role in maintaining healthy body weight through its positive effect on body composition. These studies have shown that CLA supplementation can support a healthy body fat content while promoting the production of lean tissue without negative side effects. Furthermore, initial body composition changes with CLA supplementation can be maintained over time, meaning, the positive results are long term.
Protocol for Life Balance CLA Away also contains L-Carnitine. L-Carnitine is an amino acid that is necessary for the transfer of fatty acids into the fat-burning parts of the cell, facilitating energy production from fat. The combination of CLA and L-Carnitine helps to make CLA Away an ideal supplement for maintaining a healthy weight. Use in combination with diet and excercise.*
Cautions and Interactions
Some studies suggest that CLA supplementation may have idiosyncratic effects on blood sugar levels. Diabetics using this product should closely monitor serum glucose levels.
Carnitine may affect the body's metabolism of certain pharmaceutical medications such as Doxorubicin and AZT. In addition, the need for Carnitine may be increased by Valproic Acid and Isotretinoin.*
